INTERMOUNTAIN BAPTIST CHURCH
Prayer, is it something important to us? Should it be? God says that, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). God’s people praying together, to Him, seems like a pretty foundational part of following Jesus.
Jesus desired for the Apostles to pray along with Him as He sweat drops of blood in the garden of Gethsemane. Luke writes that the first followers of Jesus devoted themselves to prayer often and when one of them was imprisoned the church earnestly prayed (Acts 1:14; 12:5). Paul constantly prayed over those whom he ministered to (Eph. 1:16; Phil. 1:4; 2 Tim: 1:3).
